Morning and Evening

  1. Rinse mouth with water
  2. Use tongue scraper to remove all food residue from your tongue
  3. Brush teeth (ideally with electric toothbrush) with toothpaste
  4. Floss with sufficiently thick floss 5. Spray teeth gaps with water flosser

Bonus tips

  • gently massage your gums with you toothbrush during brushing to clean and strengthen gums (easily bleeding gums indicates issues with your gums)
  • harsh alcohol based mouth washes should not be used daily as they kill all bacteria in the mouth including bad but also good bacteria

Routine Dentist Visits

  • schedule and attend at least two teeth check-ups a year
  • schedule and attend at least two professional teeth cleaning appointments (ideally combined with check-ups)

Things to regularly check and ask your dentist

  • "Are my gum pockets healthy, not inflamed and not too deep?" (they should be between 1 and 3mm deep)
  • "Are my wisdom teeth still there and do they need to be removed?"
