Morning and Evening
- Rinse mouth with water
- Use tongue scraper to remove all food residue from your tongue
- Brush teeth (ideally with electric toothbrush) with toothpaste
- Floss with sufficiently thick floss 5. Spray teeth gaps with water flosser
Bonus tips
- gently massage your gums with you toothbrush during brushing to clean and strengthen gums (easily bleeding gums indicates issues with your gums)
- harsh alcohol based mouth washes should not be used daily as they kill all bacteria in the mouth including bad but also good bacteria
Routine Dentist Visits
- schedule and attend at least two teeth check-ups a year
- schedule and attend at least two professional teeth cleaning appointments (ideally combined with check-ups)
Things to regularly check and ask your dentist
- "Are my gum pockets healthy, not inflamed and not too deep?" (they should be between 1 and 3mm deep)
- "Are my wisdom teeth still there and do they need to be removed?"
